First Things First

Compass pointing to Faith, surrounded by doubt

Receiving God’s love is not based on whether you feel it or not. He loves you irrespective of whether you feel His love in a tangible way or not. You must receive His love by faith. One might say that they will only believe or accept God’s love for them when they can feel it. This is the same as saying, ‘I’ll believe it when I can see it.’ This is a very worldly and carnal attitude. The world wants to see before they will believe, but as children of God, we are called to live by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5: 7), or by feelings for that matter. Receiving God’s love is only by faith – believing in what you cannot see, cannot hear or cannot feel, but it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. You cannot see oxygen, but you know it exists and you are breathing it in with every breath you take otherwise you would be dead. God’s love for you is very real and it simply needs a resolve in your heart to accept it, believe it and receive it.

Galatians 3: 12 (AMP)

But the Law does not rest on faith (does not require faith, has nothing to do with faith), for it itself says, he who does them (the things prescribed by the Law) shall live by them (not by faith).

We are no longer under the law, but under grace (Romans 6: 14). The New Covenant is a covenant of grace and faith. We appropriate His grace – His love, favour and goodness by FAITH!
